The 1940s era red brick medical building at Broadway & Columbia suffered a fire this morning just after 1am, triggering a large response from the fire department.

Capitol Hill Seattle has been alerted to an apparent shooting near the intersection of Union and Boylston on First Hill. At 5:55 PM, emergency units were dispatched to 702 E Union St. for an assault with weapons response.

A man in his 30s was shot in the chest outside an apartment building in the 700 block of East Union Street on Friday evening.

"I heard a bang, and then a pause, and bang, bang, bang," said Matt Irvin, who was outside his apartment at Boylston and East Union when the shots rang out.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of East Union Street at about 5:50 p.m.

On 11/20/09, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the victim was observed in a parking lot directly north of the 700 block of E. Union St.  Witnesses heard 4 to 6 shots, observed a black Mercedes flee S/B from the parking lot, and the victim fall to the ground.
