    • On Monday fire crews responded to the 5200 block of Brooklyn Avenue NE around 8:30 p.m. and found a couch on fire that had been pushed up against a wooden stairwell outside a home. The blaze caused about $1,000 in damage to the stairwell and nearby fence. It appeared to be intentionally set.
