    In one image -- captured by the camera in Brenton's patrol car -- the Datsun appears to be traveling on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South exactly 20 minutes before the shooting. In a second photo, the car is seen at the intersection of 14th Avenue and East Yesler Way.

    The female officer is the first killed in the line of duty since Joselito Barber was killed in a car collision Aug. 13, 2006. That accident happened at 23rd Avenue and East Yesler Way, a block from Saturday's incident.

    From the balcony of his apartment in the 9700 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast, Sheets saw an unfamiliar car idling near the parking stall underneath the balcony where his Toyota Camry was parked. Three other men, Cooper said, were breaking into the vehicle.

  • 2200 block of Northwest Market Street Suspect in Ballard stabbing arrested

    Police say the manager in a bar of the Matador Restaurant in the 2200 block of Northwest Market Street was stabbed in the back on the night of Oct. 10. The stabbing came after the patron started making a disturbance while paying a bar tab of more than $100.
