Soup's On Point at Pho Bac Sup Shop

$ Vietnamese 1240 South Jackson Street

Soup's On Point at Pho Bac Sup Shop
Approach from the east, and the red tugboat-shaped building that established Seattle's relationship with pho looks as if it's pulling the blocky, mostly black edifice that looms behind it across the concrete sea of a neighborhood in flux. These days, though, it's the other way around.

Open Letter To Mayor Jenny Durkan Regarding Tiny Houses At Othello Village

Now are we expected to applaud our officials for creating a village of painted sheds. There is no more land. Why did the City not purchase 23rd and Jackson and replace housing for the poorest rather to watch it sold to Vulcan?

Open Letter To Mayor Jenny Durkan Regarding Tiny Houses At Othello Village - The Seattle Medium
By Dawn Mason Dear Mayor Durkan, Am I correct in assuming the Tiny houses proposed to replace the razed apartment homes at Yesler Terrace are the same as Nickelsville at Othello? The blind force of Seattle’s real-estate rush

That meeting will be held, as have so many in the past century, at the Garden House (located at 2336 15th Ave. S.). That Daily Times story from 1924 portrayed the building even back then as a survivor:

The blind force of Seattle's real-estate rush
Even the garden society has been squeezed to the point that the group voted this past week to sell a 135-year-old old house and gardens on Beacon Hill. Whether it will be saved, or torn down for town houses, is the latest test of Seattle's willingness to pave over its past.
