Police: Relative of former UW football star Budda Baker shot to death in Ballard

Police were called to the 4900 block of Leary Avenue Northwest about 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

The 29-year-old man was found shot in the street in the 4900 block of 17th Avenue Northwest and died on the way to the hospital, according to police.

Revive I-5 closures continue through early Monday

Several ramps are closed, including the Northbound I-5 off-ramp to the West Seattle Bridge, Spokane Street and Columbian Way, the Westbound I-90 on ramp to Northbound I-5 and the Eastbound I-90/ Edgar Martinez Drive on-ramp to Northbound I-5.

    Closures for the the Revive I-5 construction project that have caused long backups this weekend will continue through early Monday morning. Northbound lanes of Interstate 5 are reduced from four lanes to two between the West Seattle Bridge and Olive Way until 5 a.m. Monday.

4 shooting suspects captured after fleeing police

The incident began around 2:15 p.m. with a report of gunfire coming from a car near 27th Avenue and East Union Street in the Central District, Seattle police said.

About an hour later, officers with Seattle's Gang Unit spotted the suspect car driving on Rainier Avenue South near S. Charlestown Street and tried to pull over the car once marked officers were nearby, but the suspects sped away.

A brief chase ensued until the suspects' Kia crashed into a pickup truck at Renton Avenue South and South Rose Street, police said.
