  • Seattle Jewish Community School reviewed by a parent

Sending both of our kids to SJCS has been and still is one of the best decisions we have made as a family. SJCS has been, and continues to be, a warm, welcoming, academically outstanding and innovative K-5th grade school experience that has well served the different strengths and needs of each of my two children (one currently in 5th grade at SJCS, the other a recent SJCS grad). The school has also played a major role in helping my kids develop a wonderful sense of purpose, confidence, Jewish identity, compassion and commitment to improving the world around us. I highly recommend this school to families looking for a school that consistently delivers academic excellence, innovative curriculum, love of learning while at the same time helping develop empathic, compassionate kids!

In, on, or by Haller Lake all have different meanings, if the topic is the lake itself. As for the Haller Lake neighborhood, here are five on the least expensive homes for sale in the neighborhood. Sadly, none are by the lake. Gladly, none are in or on the lake.

We have two children at the school and they have both flourished there. NSFS creates a safe and encouraging learning environment, the student to teacher ratio is great and we have enjoyed becoming part of a very active community of families at the school!

Excellent. I sent my 4 year old in preschool last year, and this year he's now in Kindergarten (5) and his 3 year old brother joined him. I went to a French school growing up, and value a bilingual education very highly and have seem my kids thrive and really enjoy the environment at NSFS.

Reading through all the reviews of this school, I find the contrasting differences of opinion interesting. Those who have so many negative things to say probably had an experience that left them frustrated and angry. Many have also had very positive experiences because they align with the core values, mission, teaching style and social community of the school. This is a young school, still working out the kinks, but doing a great job, in my opinion. In our 3 years there, we have had wonderful experiences and some frustrating experiences. My child has also had both positive experiences and challenging ones - learning to navigate a school environment, adjusting to relating to a teacher with a different personality than my own, speaking a different language than he is used to, socializing daily with kids with various personalities and cultures. There have been challenges and growth from those challenges, and also lots of fun and learning. I have never seen so many kids so happy in the morning to go to school. Overall, we have had a very positive experience here and I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to give their child(ren) the gift of a bilingual education in a fun, positive, supportive, globally-focused environment. Learn about the school and see if it fits with your family's values and style and then you will probably have a very positive experience. I love the small class sizes and the personalized teaching that he receives. I love that my child will learn to speak, read and write in both French and English. And if that takes my child longer to progress than if he learned everything in only 1 language, that is fine with me. I am more concerned with his overall long-term whole person development than that he experiences the most academically rigorous program at such a young age.
