Come hungry to Biscuit and Bean, Ballard’s one-stop-shop for biscuits, coffee and a very full meal

Come hungry to Biscuit and Bean, Ballard's one-stop-shop for biscuits, coffee and a very full meal
The biscuits here are weighty nuggets of carby, buttery goodness, and you'll need (and want) all the stomach space you can get. Share story It's really quite incredible how much power an approachable, reasonably-sized biscuit can punch. In breakfast-sandwich form, it doesn't look much different from, say, a thick English muffin.

My oldest child attended this school k-8 and said that it prepared her very well for her competitive academic private high school where she was able to place straight into honors math, English and science classes. She still goes back to visit her teachers. Meanwhile, we have experienced many years of a strong community that continues to be a bedrock of support for alumni as they reach college and beyond. The pastor is constructively involved in the school and deeply committed to its long term success and to the well being of the students.

This is a great place. Been very good fit for our kids. Families involved, children friendly and polite. Academics solid. New principal starting in fall sounds awesome.

We have been very happy at St.Al's for many years and know many families who feel the same. It is a community of dedicated teachers and staff who care for my child, love their faith, and teach strong academics. This you will find at St. Al's. Some people have an unrealistic expectation of what a school "should" be, and they may be looking for a prestigious or elite private school-- I think this is reflected in the negative views. St. Al's does not desire to fit a mold of what a private education should be. They want to stand out as a religious school with a dedicated priest, religious sisters, faculty and families committed to the spiritual, academic, social and moral development of the students. God Bless St. AL's.

We have been very happy with St. Al s for many years. I know many families who feel the same. This school is a community with teachers and staff who care about my child, love God, are kind, have a passion for teaching and love our Catholic faith. This you will find at St. Al s. I feel some parents have unrealistic expectations about what a school should be and I think this is seen in the negative reviews here. Also, some people simply want a private, elite school, and not a religious one and they come for a different idea about what a school "should" be. St Al s does not desire to fit a mold when it comes to education. They desire to stand out as a religious school, with a dedicated priest, religious sisters, and excellent teachers who care about meeting the the spiritual, academic and social needs of the child, along with the active involvement of the parents, and I believe St, Al s does an excellent job! God Bless St. Al s!

Our family's experience from 2011- 2018 at St Alphonsus was very poor. Despite thinking that it would be different for each child, this school failed to sufficiently prepare our children academically for high school within the public school system despite our involvement, extensive volunteering within the school and teacher engagement. We put a lot into this school (financially and otherwise) and got very little from it. In fact we should have gone elsewhere for middle school. The best part of this school is its size and the fact that changes and decisions can be felt almost immediately within the school body. Unfortunately it also means that bullied kids have little to no support or protection and are easily ostracized. The worst part of our St Alphonsus experience was the bullying from parish protected families and most surprisingly from the last Principal and his support staff.
