Town Hall Seattle and the Phinney Center present Johnaye Kendrick in a Saturday Family Concert at 11 a.m. Saturday in the PNA’s Brick Building, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free.

20 dumpster fires set in north Seattle neighborhoods since December 21

Those fires follow two other arsons reported on Saturday, including one that flamed up outside two Greenwood restaurants on 300 NW 85th Street. That fire spread to a wall, creating $500 in damages.

    SEATTLE -- Someone set four more dumpster fires Sunday in Seattle's Phinney Ridge, Ballard and Magnolia neighborhoods. The fires are the latest in a string of at least 20 fires that have been intentionally set in north Seattle dumpsters since December 21, 2017.

    Just a reminder that Seattle Public Utilities will delay garbage, yard waste and recycling pickup by one day again this week because of New Year's Day. So if your pickup day is normally scheduled for Monday, it all will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday scheduled pickups will be done on Wednesday, Wednesday pickups on Thursday, etc.

    Seattle Public Utilities is replacing a sewer line on 3rd Avenue NW between NW 89th and 90th streets starting tomorrow. The work is expected to last from four to seven weeks. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expect traffic delays, detours and parking restrictions in that area.

‘Schlock Movies,’ holiday theater and concerts in Phinney-Greenwood this weekend

Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents “Bloodlust” with Professor Fred’s Schlock Movies at 7 p.m. Friday; Little Sara and the Night Owls at 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell (all levels welcome) from 2-4:15 p.m. Sunday.

Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., continues its holiday productions of “A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration” on the Jewell Mainstage through Dec. 30 and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in the Isaac Studio through Dec. 27.
