Crime spree ends with life-threatening crash into U-District house

Authorities believe the same man was seen breaking into a home about 20 minutes later in the 4700 block of 11th Avenue Northeast. He then headed for a car dealership in the same block and sped off in a stolen vehicle, reports say.

The car struck several parked vehicles about 5 p.m. in the 5300 block of Ninth Avenue Northeast and then plowed into a house, driving beneath a porch, opening a hole in the wall and damaging a gas line, according to Seattle police reports.

    A 27-year-old Orting man was hospitalized with critical injuries after being implicated in a 40-minute crime spree Monday night that started with a threat with a knife to a bus driver and ended with a crash into a University District home.

Police: Man caps North Seattle crime spree by crashing into University District home

About 20 minutes later, the same man reportedly broke into a house in the 4700 block of 11th Avenue Northeast. Police said he then entered a car dealership on the same block and sped away in a stolen Audi.

Shortly thereafter, the suspect struck several parked vehicles in the 5300 block of Ninth Avenue Northeast and crashed into the front porch of a house, trapping the suspect.
