A LONE Is an Exhibition on a City-Sized Scale

Looking east toward Alyson Provax's Untitled (only one), located at the corner of Nickerson and Florentia.

'A LONE' Is an Exhibition on a City-Sized Scale
In early May an orange billboard popped up along Aurora. It reads, "My destiny is louder than my comfort," and leaves you wondering what, exactly, it's selling. Then you see the signature and find you've just read a work by widely-acclaimed poet Yrsa Daley-Ward.

  • Seattle Country Day School reviewed by a parent

Our daughter drove the process of applying and attending SCDS. So far we have been very happy with the development opportunities she has experienced. the campus is limited but they make use of the area parks and have solid after school sports program. We are not huge money bags, but the community has been very open and welcoming. Are there considerable resources available? Oh yes....but you don't have to bankrupt yourself to participate. My daughter is in her second year at SCDS and it has been amazing to watch her dig in and participate in every sport or theater event available. She was a total outsider, but has been welcomed. To the reviewers that say priviliged upper class white..... well maybe....but you get out what you put in. My daughter works crazy hard to learn everything she can and the school is right there supporting her every step of the way. I don't know how it would be if my child had behavioral problems. I do know they are clear. If you get kicked you forfeit your entire remaining tuition. Even in a very high level private school you are still required to parent your own child and teach the the necessary life skill of focus and self control.
