    SEATTLE -- If you plan to take the ferry from Seattle to either Bremerton or Bainbridge Island, be prepared for more construction at Colman Dock. The changes are expected to ramp up in a couple of weeks and into the summer. According to officials, the construction will affect both passengers who walk onto the ferry as well as drivers.

Fourteen Arrested Following Demonstration at 2nd and University

Police communicated with demonstrators over the next 90 minutes before issuing a dispersal order and informing everyone in the crowd at 2nd and University that they could be arrested if they did not leave the area.

    Seattle police were called to 2nd Avenue and University Street Monday morning after several groups of demonstrators converged at the intersection around 10:15 AM and erected four large tent-like structures, blocking traffic. Public Risks Being Left Behind as Downtown Seattle Land Runs Out

A 0.5-acre Seattle City Light substation at Western and Union could be relocated fully underground with public uses above

The federal post office at 3rd and Union sits on about 0.7 acres. Though not historically landmarked, it is a sturdy 1959 concrete building and the airspace above it might be utilized like how the old Federal Reserve building is being expanded.

A full-block, 0.8-acre parking lot on the waterfront at Western and Spring;

0.2-acre parking area and a narrow 0.2 vacant lot on the waterfront at Alaskan and Yesler;

The Swiftsure Garage sits on 0.5 acres at 2nd and Union and opened in 1969. It is nine floors with 509 parking spaces.

A block away the West Edge Garage is on 0.3 acres at 2nd and Pike. It opened in 1963. It is seven floors with 335 parking spaces.
